Void damage is able to be reduced via resists/armors/prayers/blesses, but the drain is client-side and can't be changed.

You can change the void drain, it's sent by the server.

Hmmmm... So can reduce it via server checks if the person being hit has armor on?

Could I perhaps aquire the version client and server code? I'm not an alaynayst (on paper) but I do hv the ability to make experience eduected advise.
